The 2015 Sick Bar features new upgrades including PU tubing over the depower line to reduce wear and tear and a new ClamCleat for depower. New European Dyneema flylines top it off and maintain the Clean & Simple ideal that is the foundation for the Sick Bar.
The CrazyFly Sick bar is still the one and only bar made 100% in Europe from only European materials and components. Plus, the 2015 Sick bar conforms to the international safety norm AFNOR NF S52-503. The bar itself is a full carbon monocoque tube with solid center for extremely light weight, superior strength, and lasting durability.
For 2015 we introduced major upgrades on the Sick bar while sticking to its main ideals of simplicity and safety. The main one is covering the central line in a PU (very strong plastic) tube. This new feature provides superior control of on the bar depower and adds to a more direct kite feel. The whole system, as well as the kite power delivery and steering, feel much smoother. A brand new depower trim cleat, originally designed by CrazyFly, is positioned above the PU tube. It is comfortable to reach and very easy to use. This year, we also added a Velcro on the depower trim cleat, so there are no lines flapping around, and everything is in its place. The PU tube also completely eliminated all possibilities of the central line wear.
The Sick bar is one of the safest bars on the market with one front line flag out which ensures 100% collapse of the kite. When the safety is triggered, the kite loses all power and falls down all the way immediately.
The Sick bar is finished with high quality, long lasting, and almost-zero elongation Dyneema® flying lines made in Germany. We use dark grey flying lines to be easily visible for snowkiting. There is no comparison for the material quality, weight, simplicity, and durability of the Sick bar.
